WaPo: Companies should boycott Beijing Olympics

Let’s follow this logic: Companies should boycott the Beijing Olympics.

After the Olympics: ?

Exactly.

No corporation is likely to abandon the Chinese market, and the Chinese government could (and rightfully) choose to sanction any corporation that seeks to use the Olympics to make a political statement by boycotting the Games. Also left unclear: Would such a boycott violate any contracts with the IOC?

An economic boycott might sound good, but it’s a bad idea.
