PEN America has issued a stern rebuke of the Russian government for its treatment of journalists during a weekend of protests.
Russian authorities are engaged in a disgraceful pressure attack on the free press, PEN America said today, detaining over the weekend some 80 journalists amid ongoing protests in the country.
For what it’s worth, RT suggests journalists were asked to wear clothing that easily identified them to the police and to the protesters.
