The Detroit Free Press reports University of Michigan officials want as many students as possible to stay home once January rolls around.
Undergraduates who live on campus or attend in-person classes or activities, perform research, use facilities such as libraries, unions and the student recreational center, or work on campus, will have to be tested, the university said.
The winter term begins on Jan. 19.
“Undergraduate students who don’t need to live in residence halls should remain at their permanent residences for the semester,” the school announced in its official news publication.
