The Washington Post reports Dr. Anthony Fauci left little doubt that America is heading for a terrible winter as it continues to deal with a pandemic and the onset of flu season.
“We’re in for a whole lot of hurt. It’s not a good situation,” Anthony Fauci, the country’s leading infectious-disease expert, said in a wide-ranging interview late Friday. “All the stars are aligned in the wrong place as you go into the fall and winter season, with people congregating at home indoors. You could not possibly be positioned more poorly.”
Fauci’s interview with the Washington Post occurred before British prime minister Boris Johnson announced a 4-week lockdown for his country.
Meanwhile, Taiwan has gone 200 days without a new infection, which has provided another important reminder that Asia has provided a model for combating the pandemic that the West must consider.
