Almost 250 people lost their jobs during a recent round of layoffs at Western Michigan University. Today, the university’s president said more financial and job cuts are on the way.

In response to the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Western Michigan University is preparing to cut 20% of general fund spending in each of its division to make up millions of dollars in in expected shortfalls.

The college will look different after the changes, President Edward Montgomery said during a video “town hall” meeting Monday, May 11.
