I’ve always been impressed with people who can remember seemingly the smallest of details connected to events that happened many years ago.
I was reminded of that trait again when I was privileged to hear Bob Woodward speak a couple weeks ago in Pittsburgh. Especially during dinner, with maybe 30 people around the table, and later, when he addressed hundreds of people inside Pittsburgh Heinz Hall, Woodward was able to recall moments that had happened years before.
Perhaps because I’m painfully aware of what dementia and Alzheimer’s has done to my family, I admire people who are mentally as sharp as a tack well into their 70s (and Woodward is 76).
May I be so blessed to be able to recall key moments of my life should the good Lord allow me to still be on the Earth in 24 years.
