African-American enrollment dropping at an “alarming” rate at University of Florida

The Gainesville Sun has the details.

Enrollment of black freshmen dropped more than 50 percent between 2007 and 2013, with a high of 910, or 14 percent of 6,441 freshmen in 2007, compared with 395, or 6.2 percent of 6,370 freshmen in 2013, based on a database maintained by the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System.

And undergraduate enrollment for blacks dropped 28.2 percent, from a peak of 3,571, or 10.1 percent of total students in 2009, to a low of 2,346, or 7.4 percent in 2013, according to information collected by IPEDS.
